prayer requests

Last Update: 6/28/2008

Dear partners in prayer and ministry,

......work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling....[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. (Phillipians 2:12b, 13 Amplified Bible)

Have you ever thought about the blessed privilage each believer in Jesus Christ has to be an instrument in the Father's hands to work for His delight! We can give the Father DELIGHT! It amazes me! Each time we have a desire to lift our prayers before the Throne, in His unfathomable way, He takes the desire He gave us to accomplish His purposes, and He receives pleasure from allowing us to join Him. And what a joy it is each week to share not only the needs of Team Kharkov and the people we seek to serve, but also the answers to those requests.

This week, we ask you to join us in "working out (our) own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling" and giving thanksgiving and praise for His answers.

Sunday, June 29th Praise God for the youth team from FBC Selma, Alabama who were here last week. God allowed us to plow up new ground in Zmeov as we worked alongside Ukrainian believers in the city with children through VBS. Pray that the seeds of the Gospel that were planted in the hearts of the approximately 40 children who attended would grow as Pastor Yuri, his wife Olga, and the believers in the new church start in Zmeov continue to water those seeds. Pray that God gives the increase for His glory!

Monday, June 30th Pray for Keith as he goes travels to Budapest today for additional medical treatment. He will get the cast taken off his hand and begin physical therapy. Please pray for complete healing and a speedy recovery. Pray for the time he will have to get alone with the Lord to be a time of refreshing and renewal of body and spirit.

Tuesday, July 1st Pray for Wendy and Ryan while "Papa" (Keith) is gone this week. Ask the Lord to bless their time together. Pray for Wendy as she takes care of things around the house.

Wednesday, July 2nd Pray for Linda and Amanda as they continue to lead the women's group at Gorizont on Wednesday evening. Ask the Lord to use the Bible study on codependency to lead each of the women to greater freedom in Christ. Pray that those attending who do not yet know Christ would choose to enter into a personal relationship with the Father through Jesus.

Thursday, July 3rd Please continue to be in prayer for preparations for Green Valley Baptist (Birmingham, Alabama) and FBC Grenada (Mississippi) churches as they get ready to come July 12-25. Pray for final details to be put in place as we join Jesus where He is at work! Pray that God would give us HIS providential meetings with people as Green Valley does construction on the Rogan Ministry Center and provides backyard Bible clubs in Rogan and in Gorizont! Pray for FBC Grenada as they labor in love for our Lord by providing medical clinics in new work areas: Gagarina, XTZ, and 602 Saltavka! Pray that God gives us all that we need to work in these areas!

Friday, July 4th We praise God for the privilage of being Americans! As the day of Independence is celebrated in the U.S., we pray for Ukrainians and Americans alike to experience true freedom through Christ. Ask the Lord to raise up His people in both nations to make 2 Chronicles 7:14 a reality in these lands....that we would individually and corporately humble ourselves before the Lord, pray and seek His face, and turn from our sinful ways that He might hear our prayers, forgive our sin and heal our lands.

Saturday, July 5th We praise God for the opportunity Linda had to attend a week-long Celebrate Recovery seminar last week in Kiev. Pray for the pastors, church leaders, and other believers who attended to have wisdom in implementing this program in churches throughout Ukraine. Ask the Lord to raise up Ukrainian believers with a passion for ministry to the broken to be drawn to commit to being trained as leaders of this ministry in their churches.

Thank you for your partnership through prayer! Please know that this vital ministry of prayer undergirds the preaching of the Gospel. As we do the work of the Lord together, remember these words: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:58, NASB).
